Biography

Ngoc Thanh Nguyen is currently a full Professor of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland and the Head of Department of Applied Informatics. His research interests consist, among others, of collective intelligence, data mining, social media. He is now a member of the State Council of Scientific Excellence of Poland and a member of the Committee on Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He received the title of Honorary Professor of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in Vietnam and was an invited and visiting professor in many universities, such as Friedrich-Alexander University (Germany), Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Japan), Yeungnam University (Korea), University of Technology Sydney (Australia), National Kaohsiung University (Taiwan) and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). He is the Chair of IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Computational Collective Intelligence, he received the title of Distinguished Scientist and Distinguished Speaker of ACM, and Distinguished Visitor of IEEE. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Transactions on Computational Collective Intelligence (Springer), Vietnam Journal of Computer Science (World Scientific) and Journal of Information and Telecommunication (Taylor&Francis). Prof. Ngoc Thanh Nguyen is an author of 2 European patents in information systems. He has headed a number of research projects funded by EU programs like COST, DAAD, Polonor and National Foundation of Research and Development. He serves as an expert of National Center of Research and Development and of European Commission in evaluating research projects in such programs as MSCA-IF, REA-FET, EUREKA and COST. He has been a general chair or program chair of more than CORE-indexed 50 international conferences with proceedings in Springer and IEEE. He has given 29 plenary and keynote speeches for international conferences, and more than 45 invited lectures in many countries. He has published 46 books and more than 450 journal and conference papers. He has supervised 16 PhD students in Poland and also jointly with Vietnam National University and Yeungnam University (Korea).

Biography

Yo-Ping Huang (Fellow, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, USA. He is a Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, where he served as the Secretary General. He also serves as the President of Chinese Automatic Control Society. He was the President of National Penghu University of Science and Technology, Penghu, Taiwan. He was a Professor and the Dean of Research and Development, the Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and the Department Chair with Tatung University, Taipei. His current research interests include deep learning modeling, intelligent control, machine learning, and AIoT systems design.

Dr. Huang received the FUTEX (Future Tech) Award and the Outstanding Research Award from the National Science and Technology Council, Taiwan. He is Fellows of IET, CACS, TFSA, and AAIA. He was the IEEE SMCS VP for Conferences and Meetings, the IEEE SMCS BoG, the President of the Taiwan Association of Systems Science and Engineering, the Chair of the IEEE SMCS Taipei Chapter, the Chair of the IEEE CIS Taipei Chapter, and the CEO of the Joint Commission of Technological and Vocational College Admission Committee, Taiwan.
