The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) traces its origins to the former Danang Higher Education Institute, established in 1975, and has officially been known as the University of Danang – University of Science and Technology since 1976. With more than five decades of development, UD-DUT has become one of Vietnam's leading universities in engineering and technology. The University is committed to educating highly qualified engineers, researchers, and technology professionals while advancing scientific research, innovation, and technology transfer to support the country's socio-economic development.

UD-DUT is recognized as a major center for scientific research and technology transfer, playing a significant role in developing and applying advanced technologies, particularly in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands. Throughout its more than 50-year history, generations of faculty members, researchers, students, and alumni have made substantial contributions to the nation's industrial and technological development. The University has educated tens of thousands of engineers, architects, scientists, educators, and managers, continuously strengthening its reputation as one of the most prestigious institutions for engineering and technology education in Vietnam.
