Professor Banh Tien Long is a distinguished Vietnamese scholar in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing processes, surface engineering, and advanced manufacturing. He was appointed Professor in 2002 and is currently a Senior Professor. He has held numerous prominent academic and professional positions, including Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Science Editors (VASE). He was Vice Minister, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam; Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Mechanical Engineering Associations, and President of the National Council for Professor Title in the Interdisciplinary Mechanical Engineering, Member of the Vietnam State Council for Professorship.
Professor Long has made significant contributions to mechanical engineering research and education, with more than 220 scientific publications, including 72 papers indexed in ISI/Scopus, as well as numerous international conference papers. His research covers advanced machining, electrical discharge machining, surface engineering, metal forming, manufacturing optimization, and sustainable manufacturing.
He has authored and edited 35 books and textbooks, including internationally published and Scopus/Web of Science-indexed works. He is a People’s Teacher of Vietnam, recipient of the Second-Class Labor Medal, and an Honorary Doctor of Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan.
